As Good As Dead: Book Review

As Good As Dead

Book Review

-By Sneha Pala

Let me start off by saying how absolutely ludicrous this book was. I don't know what it is but it's always the third book of a trilogy that makes you want to pull your hair out. If you have read my previous reviews (Which I suggest you do for this review to make sense) you would know how I unquestionably loved the first book and as of now I would highly recommend it. I was so excited to begin reading this considering the part involved a few hints leading upon this book.

The book starts with Pip going through PTSD which is understandable considering how the second book 'Good Girl, Bad Blood' ended but it was getting kind of boring and repetitive after the first few pages which was the first turn off. But okay, I still went ahead, not wanting to give major spoilers but yeah some parts were good how everything connected from the first two books and the creepiness of Pip having a stalker constantly threatening her. Like the last book the plot was quite simple as though served on a silver platter to figure out which was another turn off.

And then it happened. I actually cannot reveal what happened because it would be a major spoiler and if you are ever planning on reading the book then let it not be me who ruins it but it was well as I said ludicrous. I loved Pip, I loved how she thought, how creative she was when it came to solving mysteries but I swear I couldn't hate her more after this book. And Ravi supporting her through the whole thing, utterly preposterous.

It just went downhill from then. The whole story seemed far fetched and honestly just why. With all due respect to Holly Jackson, this book wasn't needed at all. Why would you spoil one of the most loved characters?

I expected something good or at least something mediocre but this was just a bunch of non sense jumbled into a book which practically didn't make any sense at all. If you have read the first two books, I would suggest you to not read this one because it will absolutely spoil your outlook on the whole series.

This review is mostly about the complaints I have against the book which sounds baseless but one thing I liked in the end was Ravi's message and that's it. That is a wrap on the trilogy 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder'. I gave this book a three star on GoodReads because I understand the struggle of writing a book and how difficult the journey is.

Thank you so much for sticking through!
