Good Girl, Bad Blood: Book Review

 Good Girl, Bad Blood

Book Review

-By Sneha Pala

After the nail biting experience with the first book, I was so eager to jump onto the second. I have already reviewed the first book of this trilogy so if you haven't checked that out already, go ahead and read that first as this a continuation to the previous post. I read 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder' in four days considering the fact that I am student. It definitely portrays how gripping and face paced the story was for me to spend every free second of my time reading the book.

The book starts with Ravi and Pip sharing their journey about the how they solved the five year old cold case of Murder of Andie Bell and Salil Singh. They talked about all the discoveries and persons of interest on their podcast and Pip admitted that her detective days were over and she would no longer solve any new case until someone close to her goes missing.

The whole plot revolves around solving the missing person case of Jamie Reynolds (brother of Conner Reynolds who is a friend of Pip's) when the police do not take the case seriously. Jamie, having done this in the past, made no one believe that he might actually be in trouble. Pip documents the entire search on her true crime podcast and asks for help from her audience to solve the case.

I actually really liked this book. A genuinely thought out mystery with enough twists to keep you hooked till the end. Though not going to lie I did solve the case before finishing the book but it was still quite gripping. I liked how there were small clues and hints dropped and how they were followed by Ravi and Pip. As I mentioned in the last review, I loved how the author included maps, clues, interviews, etc. It just adds to the whole vibe of reading a thriller because somewhere you feel like a detective yourself. So yes, overall the book was really good and well written I just wished that if I didn't solve the case before Ravi and Pip, I would have liked it better.

In this book, we got to see more of Ravi & Pip and I love love love how he her calls her Sarge. When it comes to books, I am totally digging the romantic side of the characters and Ravi in love is just the cutest thing ever. He is the true definition of soft guy.

One important thing I would like to mention is whenever you are reading a thriller, you have to mentally prepare yourself for some dark plot twists, true nature of human beings and some twisted narratives so if you are not up for that then I would recommend you do not read this book. And one more additional information before you read this is to start with the first book of the series as jumping in from between will leave you clueless as the story flows in a continuation and is not a standalone.

I gave this book a four star sheerly because I solved the case otherwise it was a wonderful read.

Thank you so much for sticking through!
